In addition to being the founder and the President Emeritus of the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (www.licfe.org), and the 2003 - 2007 President of the Society of Professional Investigators and President Emeritus, David E. Zeldin is a Licensed Private Investigator in NY/NJ/CT & FL. Mr. Zeldin is also a Management Consultant in the areas of Forensic Computer Analysis, Loss Prevention, Risk Management and Fraud, with a specialty in Employee Dishonesty, at all levels of business. Personally, David E. Zeldin enjoys a diverse educational background with undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Marketing (Cum Laude) and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. David E. Zeldin is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Fraud Consultant, a Certified Security & Safety Consultant, Certified in Homeland Security-Level III, a Diplomate in the American Board of Forensic Examiners, a Diplomate and a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the American Board of Law Enforcement Experts, a Life Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, a Life Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, as well as a Life Member of the New York Chief Executive Officers Club.
David
Zeldin has spent more than thirty years working throughout
the investigation, law enforcement and security fields.
After working as a Security Guard and Store Detective, during
college, David became a Regional Security Director, at age 22. During the next six years David worked in retail security,
industrial and trucking company investigations, as well as undercover
and insurance investigations and supervision.
He then spent five years as a Special Investigator and Bonded
Deputy Sheriff, in Suffolk County (NY), specializing in Welfare Fraud.
At the same time, he obtained his first Private Investigator's
License and founded Asset Protection Corporation, which later grew
into APC Corporate Security, Inc., (www.apcsecurity.com)
a multi-state, multi faceted investigative and security organization. In January 1999, after spending more than eighteen years expanding and growing his businesses, Mr. Zeldin merged the APC organization with INVESTICORP, INC., (www.investicorp.com) APC's primary competitor and the then-leading women owned investigation and fraud consulting organization on the East Coast. Mr. Zeldin soon became the President and CEO of INVESTICORP and its subsidiaries, including DAVID ROSE INTERNATIONAL, INC. (NJ), ASSET PROTECTION OF FLORIDA, INC., INVESTICORP, INC. (CT), as well as the New York INVESTICORP, INC.
Mr.
Zeldin is a Certified New York State Security Guard Instructor and has
served on the faculties of Jersey City State College and Long Island
University, where he was an Adjunct Professor, from 1980 - 1997.
Mr. Zeldin is a co-author of Security Design and Premises
Protection, in McGraw-Hill's First Edition (1981) of the Criminal and
Civil Investigation Handbook, and Undercover Investigations and Sting
Operations in the Private Sector in the Second Edition (1992). He is
also listed in Who's Who in American Law Enforcement, Who's Who in
U.S. Executives and in the Outstanding Young Men of America (1982). David Zeldin retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Civil Air Patrol (USAFA) where he served as Chief Investigator and Deputy Inspector General of New York Wing, from 1975 - 1995. In 1994, LTC Zeldin received USCAP's Meritorius Service Award. He is also an NRA Certified Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Instructor and an associate member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI). David is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the National Association of Investigative Specialists, National Law Enforcement Associates, Investigative Reporters and Editors, Academy of Security Educators and Trainers, American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement New York City, Inc., American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement, Long Island Chapter, (AAPLE) where he is the Web master. David was the Region 2 Director (Board Member) of the National Council of Investigative and Security Services, from 2004 - 2009. In addition to having spent two years as the vice-chairman of the Ethics, Grievance and Disciplinary Committee, during which time the current Code of Ethics was promulgated, David was the Chairman of the 2008 Conference Committee, which held the first NYC Conference in the history of the organization and the most successful to date! David is also a member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police and the United Council on Welfare Fraud. Mr. Zeldin has been a member of ASIS International (formerly known as the American Society for Industrial Security), since 1976, where he has held national and local positions, including the National Investigations Standing Committee and Chapter Chairman. David was recognized by ASISLI and received the 2008 ASIS LONG ISLAND CHAPTER MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD and currently serves as Legislative Chair and Person of the Year Dinner Journal Chair (www.asisli.org). He is a past president of the Associated Licensed Detectives of New York State (ALDONYS) as well as its current License Enforcement & Information Chairperson.
In
1998, Mr. Zeldin received ALDONYS' highest honor, the Eugene R. Fink
Memorial Award. In May 2006, Mr. Zeldin received a Special Recognition Service Award for a Lifetime of Public
Service, from ALDONYS.
Mr. Zeldin represents ALDONYS and the investigation
industry, as a member of the
International Association of Security and Investigative Regulators (IASIR).
David was a Gubernatorial Appointee and served for the first
four years of the existence of the NYS Security Guard Advisory
Council. Mr.
Zeldin was the Secretary of the New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators
Association, through May, 2002. Finally, David Zeldin is a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer, of the
New York Military
Academy Association of Graduates. Finally, David Zeldin is the
Membership Chair of the Metropolitan Security Council of Greater
New York (MSCNYLP) and an active member in numerous other professional and civic organizations, including Kiwanis
International, and F. & A.M.
